One postdoctoral and one PhD researcher position in Synthetic Organic and Supramolecular Chemistry
A 4-year doctoral fellowship and a 2-year postdoctoral fellowship are available in the EMNS lab to design and synthesise novel anion receptors for the transmembrane transport and sensing of anions.
These fellowships are offered in the context of a project funded by a Walloon Excellence in Technology Advanced grant (WEL-T) awarded to Dr. Hennie Valkenier. The “ionophores revisited” WEL-T project aims to develop neutral organic receptors for phosphate and other tetrahedral oxoanions. These lipophilic receptors will be tested as ‘ionophores’ by embedding them in lipid or polymeric membranes for anion sensing and anion transport applications.
