Romain Carpentier successfully defended his doctoral thesis.

After four years of dedicated research supported by an FNRS FRIA grant, Romain was officially awarded his Doctorate in Engineering Science and Technology on Tuesday, January 14th.

Under the supervision of Professors Kristin Bartik (EMNS) and Ivan Jabin (LCO), Romain made significant advancements in the development and characterization of supramolecular systems in aqueous environments. He studied homooxacalix[3]arenes and calix[5]arenes for the recognition of primary ammonium ions in water, and calix[6]arenes for the formation of an ouroboros complex with zinc cation in water. He was also involved in a project of micellar catalysis involving vanadium aminotriphenolate complexes.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Romain and wish him continued success in his future endeavors!
