A 3-year post-doctoral position is offered in the EMNS laboratory for a highly motivated chemist to develop sensors for phosphate anions.
This fellowship is offered in the context of a project funded by a Walloon Excellence in Technology Advanced grant (WEL-T). The “ionophores revisited” WEL-T project aims to develop neutral organic receptors for phosphate and other tetrahedral oxoanions and embed these in polymeric membranes for potentiometric sensing.

The successful applicant will explore the applications of the most promising ionophores for potentiometric sensing. This involves embedding the ionophores in polymeric membranes and the subsequent electrochemical characterisation of the resulting material as membrane in ion-selective electrodes.
