Gold nanorods were functionalized with an innovative calix[4]arene-based coating that significantly bolsters their stability under sustained laser exposure, while facilitating effective conjugation. These fortified and conjugable gold nanorods are promising candidates for applications in the context of photothermal therapy, where structural integrity and durability are essential.
