Dr. Maurice Retout has obtained his PhD in 2020 at the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) where he studied and development innovative strategies for the functionalization of noble metal nanomaterials under the supervision of Prof. Gilles Bruylants. Early 2021, he joined the team of Prof. Jesse Jokerst at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), where he worked on the design of enzyme-responsive nanosystems for in vitrosensing and in vivo photoacoustic imaging.
In 2024, he has been awarded a FNRS “chargé de recherche” position simultaneously to a Innoviris “brain for brussels” grant. His CATHENA project focuses on the development of smart nanoplatforms for the selective delivery of anticancer peptides combined to photoacoustic imaging. -
