I graduated in 2021 with a Master's degree in Chemistry with Highest Honours from the Faculty of Sciences at Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) with a specialization in Biochemistry. I was awarded the Ilya Prigogine Prize (International Solvay Institutes for Physics and Chemistry), which rewards the best student who has demonstrated excellence in their Master's degree in Chemistry. My Master’s thesis, entitled “Effect of phosphorylation on stability and conformational equilibrium for the first nucleotide binding domain of CFTR”, was carried out in the SFMB laboratory at ULB under the supervision of Dr. Cédric Govaerts. I am currently pursuing a PhD program, for which I obtained a FRIA grant, in the EMNS and LCO laboratories at ULB under the supervision of Prof. Gilles Bruylants and Prof. Ivan Jabin. Focused on nanobiotechnology, the goal of the project is to develop a novel theranostic agent from gold nanorods for nucleic acid delivery and photoacoustic imaging. The project falls within the framework of the development of new treatment strategies in the context of personalized medicine, especially for cancer and neurodegenerative diseases therapies.
